Course 1:
Learning how to use your camera
Saturday, May 6th  |  10:00AM – 1:00PM

In this class, you’ll learn the basic building blocks of photography including ISO, Shutter Speed and Aperture. Explore changing the cameras sensor speed (ISO) for varying lighting situations while shooting in Program and becoming familiar with your camera and how to navigate its menus, buttons and scene modes.

Course 2:
Beyond the Basics:  Buttons, Aperture & Shutter Speed
Saturday, May 13th  |  10:00AM – 12:30PM

Gain a better understanding of how and when to shoot in Shutter mode (S or TV) or Aperture Mode (A or AV). This course expands your knowledge beyond the Program Mode.

Course 3:
Metering, Focusing and Advanced Exposure Value
Saturday, May 20th  |  10:00AM – 12:30PM

Learn the difference between incident and reflective metering, different types of autofocus and the benefits of longer time exposures.

Course 4:
Lenses, Filters and Lens Shades
Saturday, May 27th  |  10:00AM – 12:30PM

Learn the advantages and disadvantages of both prime and zoom lenses to get the perspective you desire. Discover the importance and creative freedom of a variety filters.

Course 5:
Macro Lenses, Close Up Filters, Extension Tubes and Ring Lights and Reflectors
Saturday, June 3rd  |  10:00AM – 1:00PM

Gain an understanding of the difference between prime lenses and macro-specific lenses, the pros and cons of close-up filters and extension tubes and the difference between artificial light and natural light with regard to macro photography.

Course 6:
Composing Photos- Focusing on the Fundamentals
Saturday, June 10th  |  10:00AM – 1:00PM

Gain an understanding of focal point, light, shadow and color. Viewpoint and perspective as well as the rules of composition will be explored.

Course 7:
Lighting Basics – Outdoor Flash
Saturday, June 17th  |  10:00AM – 1:00PM

Gain an understanding of additive light using an auxiliary flash. Also learn about white balance and the equipment used with auxiliary flashes including diffusers, cords and brackets.

Course 8:
Lighting Basics Indoor Flash
Saturday, June 24th  |  10:00AM – 1:00PM

Gain an understanding of how to use your portable flash indoors. The use of multiple flashes will be introduced as will the use of white, silver and gold umbrellas and the different results each produce.

Walking Activity:  An old bar, church or restaurant with mixed lighting (TBA)
